Tamara Sánchez Van Dyck is an independent art dealer based in Madrid and Amsterdam. Born into a family of artists and not having inherited the talent to create, she instead started dealing art from an early age. With a BA in Economics specialising in data analysis and after many years in the contemporary arts- including music, film, and production projects- she was later introduced to the field of Old Masters, specialising in Old Master Sculpture since 2012.

A selection of past sales that are my personal favourites for they were newly discovered sculptures by the most singular Renaissance and Baroque Masters that found a place in exceptional private and public collections.

VISTAS
Tamara served on the board of directors for Vistas and collaborated closely with founder Hester Diamond on this initiative. Founded in 2013 by Diamond (1928-2020), Jon Landau, and Fabrizio Moretti, VISTAS was a non–profit organisation dedicated to advancing new scholarship and photography on European Sculpture 1250-1780 . Over the course of a decade, the organisation supported research, photography, and publication of a number of important projects in collaboration with over 80 worldwide curators, restorers and scholars.

Spanish Sculpture Photo Archive
Deeply committed to advancing research in Spanish renaissance and baroque sculptors Tamara has amassed thousands of images of sculptures present in Spanish churches, chapels and monasteries with little access, many never photographed before. Starting as a research-tool for her own new acquisitions it has grown into an archive that has helped curators and scholars obtain comparative images in their attribution efforts. As it continues to grow, and an adequate format is in the making, the images can be requested directly here.

Tamara is one of the initiators behind Lisa G.-Creating New Labels- is a non-profit that pursues the advancement in knowledge on the different capacities of women in the History of Art with a special focus on Old Master Painting & Sculpture. As Artists, Collaborators, Patrons or Muses, Lisa G. fosters the increase of visibility of women in Museums and Galleries by providing a platform to consult & identify their stories, edit new labels and content creation to the effect of making their stories known to a wider public in a sustainable manner.
